Hello @kellee55, thank you for opening this discussion! Let me tag some other members who can possibly share with you!
Good morning everyone, how are you today? Have any of you tried medical cannabis or CBD for your OA pain? If so, has it helped? Was it prescribed or recommended to you by your doctor? If you haven't tried either, is it something you'd be interested in?

My GP won’t discuss medical CBD. I have been using a cbd muscle balm which does take the edge off the pain. I suffer with oa of knees although as I age other joints are getting affected. I’m a keen knitter and have found some spurs appearing on my thumb joints. This is a big worry to me.
also I’ve been suffering from severe swelling in lower legs my right leg worse than the left and I’m getting excruciating pain in the right leg. It seems to start in my thigh then when I try to move it shifts to right side of my knee . I have finally seen GP face to face and been put on water tablets. These seem to have helped a little with swelling but not with this pain I’ve had a follow up chat and been asked to do my weight so this week she sees if anything changed., they’ve asked for more blood tests the following week.
ive been on at them for years as immobility isn’t helping my weight or my mobility and all of this has resulted in weakened core muscles and incontenance. Which nobody seems to address. I’ve asked yet again about how I could go swimming as this addresses core muscles, mobility exercise etc. But it all seems too much for them to understand. Weight won’t go without exercise, won’t help incontinence without exercising those core muscles etc etc.
at 69 and now recently widowed I seem to be getting so much worse and inactivity also brings depression. When it comes down to it. If I could go to assisted swimming, I could improve my weight, my well being, my core muscles etc.

My pain is really getting unbearable and the treatments I'm on are not really giving me any relief. I've read that medical cannabis or CBD can help with joint pain, has anyone tried either? Would one be better than the other?
