@Courtney_J I told my family almost straight away. My husband couldn't come with me to my appointments but he was the first I told after I got the news. My children are grown and out the house so I waited until I could see them in person (fortunately they don't live far), it felt important to me that they be there in front of me. They were all wonderful about it - emotional of course, but ready to jump in and help me.
With friends it was a bit different, I did wait a bit before telling them, mostly for myself to have the time to think about it all. Some have stayed here with me but others have sort of drifted away... Covid obviously doesn't help with that since I stay home mostly as I'm in treatment, but now I know who are true friends through thick and thin.

Most of my family were going through this with me as because of covid I hardly saw anyone face to face I mostly gained information from the copy letters sent to my GP and Googled the big words to see what they meant As some of my relatives are in the NHS I asked them questions too Now im on the 4 th cycle of my VCD REGIMEN 3 more to go I think I only speak to my consultant once a month So really just trying to get it over with & hope it improves slightly 😊

Hello everyone,
How are you doing today?
Being diagnosed with cancer can sometimes change the relationships we have with others - some may jump to one's side, others may not know how to react.
How did you tell your family and friends about your diagnosis? Did you wait a bit to process it, or did you tell them straight away? In person? Over the phone? Or did you decide to not tell them at all?
