You might be anemic. Get your B12 levels tested. I was low in B12 so I started taking supplements. I was less tired in about a 10 days!

Hi @madeleine09
How are you doing today?
Make sure you are taking it easy if you're getting dizzy and light headed! We don't want you to risk injuring yourself more.
I would also report these symptoms to your doctor. They can run some tests and, as @elizabethmary said, it could be a lack of vitamin or low blood count levels.
I will tag a few other members to see if they have any similar experiences to share-

Did you experience this side effect? What other side effect should @madeleine09 look out for? Any other advice to share?
Take care,

Never had a problem with Metformin, either liquid or tablet, only the horrible taste of the liquid version. But indeed as indicated you problem may be elsewhere and perhaps a wider blood test would be worth while. Over dozing can be an issue as it can attack your kidneys, something to be avoided. But as a consultant said to me, studies show taking Meformin extend your life and told me always to continue taking it!

Hi Carenity-
I've been taking Metformin for a years now and only recently I've been getting light headed and dizzy. This is a common side effect that I remember being warned about, but I am just now getting it. All these years, I have been relatively side effect-free. I don't want to change my medication, it seems to be working pretty well, but I'm worried the dizziness will get worse. What would you do in my case?
Thank you,
madeleine09
