Assuming it is diabetes 2 then diet is the only option in most cases. If it is age onset and not overweight then there is little can be done. But of course best advice is your GP who have your health history at hand to give best advice.
Diet choice is I feel a personal thing but all the usual diet drinks, looking at labels of ingredients, cutting out the nice things in life like sweets etc. Lower priced food usually have lower sugar content, an expensive ingredient, more sweetners etc. rather than so called reduced labels.
What I will say I lost 6 stone through Chemo treatment in six weeks, I was injecting at the time, in the end I was controlling my diabetes by diet alone. So dieting alone does work but I would not recomend my extremes. I have since gained weight and back on tablets bordering back on injections, so clear evidence dieting is the solution.
Good luck to your sister!

Hello,
My sister just found out she is prediabetic. Now I have hear you can reverse it, which is hopefully something she can do. Does anyone know other things to concentrate on besides losing weight? Besides avoiding sugary things, what is the ideal diet? I heard managing stress levels might also help?
Would love to know if anyone has been successful.
Thanks
