Never had problems with Metformin, glipizide etc. although did inject but did not like the needles. After my cancer treatment I lost 6 stone and effectively became diet controlled diabetes 2. But now slowly risen to 18.5 stone and I am back on prescribed liquid Metformin, can't take tablets anymore. Now back on my diet and have a target of 17.5 stone and hopefully back to diet controlled only. So losing weight is the answer for many overweight diabetes 2 except least we forget 50% of diabetes 2 patients are thin. So for us fatties diet is our best chance of improving our health, finding the right diet is the challenge?

I am on metaformin and insulin .My sugar levels are better than they were but still on the high side and very sensitive to what I eat .The problem there is that I have a lot of diet , digestive problems related to other health conditions and find it difficult to eat a good diet that doesn't cause problems one way or another .It is difficult though to pinpoint anyone cause although after 15 years on predisinole steroids my new consultant has said that most of my problems are down to that , just wish someone had been honest with me before

Grundy went to hospital for my yearly check; saw the consultant only me in the waiting area it used to be full but appointments cut right down; I told her my control was between 5 and 7 she said that range is too narrow so Glitrocide is now withdrawn I've been on this 10 years! appointments back on 6 monthly, so it looks like being back to out of control!! never mind here we go again!!

I am due to start s course of injections for my asthma , once a fortnight for 16 weeks a hundred miles round trip with the intent of reducing the steroids .In theory this should improve a number of health conditions but what effect it will have on my blood sugar levels I am not sure .It should be an interesting few weeks , although I will actually miss the last one as I am away in Scotland . I will try and keep everyone updated as I go along

Hello to all,,it had been a long time since my last post.
Well I have had a change to my diabetes meds,,,gone is the gliclazide,it made me feel bloated,,and the dsn has given me Canagliflozin,,which makes your body pee out excess sugar and therefore helps with the condition...I have been peeing and I have now lost weight,, nurse weighed me on,,,8/6/16,,,130kgs ,,,21/9/16,,122kgs 48 bmi,,,
the urology consultant on 20/7/16 had me on 128kgs and 50 bmi,,so things are looking better,,,,the glic is still available and might be brought back,,if my next hab1A is not showing good figures,,,,I hope you all feeling well and managing your condition with good patience,,,,ttfn from Karen.
