Hello everyone, when I found out about my condition I didn't know a thing. I only had a lot of missconceptions so I asked a lot of info to my GP and a friend which I new her dad was diabetic and there I even learned that there was a type1 and 2 and are not the same at all. I guess it has been a long ride but now I feel more in control thanks to curiosity.

Talk about the first alarming signs that you had that made you go to your doctor? How long did it take to establish the diagnosis?
Thanks in advance!

I was quite shocked to be diagnosed with type two diabetes three years ago.Suppose I thought that it affected mostly people with a sweet tooth, how wrong I was! I went to the gp after a weekend of drinking lots of water and it didn't quench my thirst at all, also I was extremely tired all the time. The gp told me to book in for blood tests and the result was my hb1ac was in the twenties and the gp said I'm diabetic, it scared me and I made lots of modifications to my diet and increased exercise. Now I've got a good knowledge of what affects my blood sugar levels.
