@Courtney_J Hi Courtney, both my husband and I have diabetes, and we were both diagnosed in our early 50's after neglecting our health and diet for many years. We make quite the couple! My husband is a bit more worse off than me because he had some problems with his blood pressure which we think caused his diabetic nephropathy. I also have high blood pressure, but I'm working on lowering it through diet and exercise. It's been hard for us both, especially in lockdown, but we're doing our best! :)

It is the unpredictable swings in my bloods which I find the most frustrating. Eat the same things each day but don't get the same readings. Thankfully I am managing to lose some weight during the pandemic and for that I am thankful

When did you find out you have type 2 diabetes and how? What signs did you notice before you knew you had it? How long have you been living with it? How are you feeling these days? Do you feel ready to manage your diabetes?

Hi I was diagnosed in 2010 after having a prostate operation and having check ups afterwards , the nurse giving me my check up results said do you know you have diabetes. My reply was not according to you lot,( I'd been to the doctors a few times over the years due to having problems with shaking dropping energy and generally feeling unwell when it happened and the only thing that helped was Mars bars so I always kept them in my work locker just in case. ) she said well you have now. Six months or so after my wife was diagnosed with type 2.

I had an infection in my leg twice , so my GP did a blood test and it was found I had type 2diabetes . I was overweight but lost a lot as I cut out all sweet things , going from 17 stone to 14 and a half stone . This was twelve years ago . I managed with diet but ended up on Metformin , now 4 tablets a day . My HB as stayed at 52 for the last two years and now also take one other medication . I have recently lost a stone in weight and feel really well but still tired on occasions . I have now reached the age of 63 and still work full time as a support worker. I have regular blood checks and eye and feet checks .
