I was late receiving my letter I phoned my gp and was abruptly told it was nothing to do with them but now I believe it is as there are a lot who haven't received letters which is un fair as it stops them getting the food parcels etc

@Abigail18 welcome to the site Abigail. That must be very stressful being alone through this. I hope you're doing alright.
What does everyone think about the end of the lockdown Boris is proposing? Will you starting going out and back to work like before? Scotland doesn't seem to following the dates he laid out so I should be ok, but despite all that I think I will stay in isolation for a while longer.

I have C.O P.D which has got worse this last year. I have been isolated now for 8 weeks and I am finding very hard. I am a very social person and crave company. I have not worked since I got my letter on 21st March. So I'm beginning to feel very down now. I had been decorating to try and pass the time but the paint fumes irritate my chest so have to do a couple of days then have a few days off. I really cant wait to get back to work now. I only work part time now as I had to give my full time job up as I kept getting I'll as the environment was cold and damp. I hope you are all keeping safe no matter how long the days seem and like me really missing the grandchildren.

I have C.O.P.D. but haven’t received “the” letter and still work as a bus driver although I could have retired 3 years ago. I have been on furlough since the 30th March, although self-isolated on 23rd. Because of this “easing” of lockdown I have been approached by the company (Stagecoach in the East) about going back to work in mid-June. I have told them no due to medical reasons and to answer Marie9’s question, it depends on your age, if you are retired you are likely to get a “DNR” added to your chart whether you like it or not (not everywhere), plus the older you are, the less likely you are to get a ventilator due to the shortages in the NHS. I believe the Scottish government are right to retain the lockdown and have more humane rules and laws to do with COVID 19. I also understand some of the Nightingale Hospitals have been mothballed for the 2nd wave when it happens, probably in the autumn months, apparently COVID 19 doesn’t like the heat of summer.

Hi everyone I have copd but last year I got lung cancer I was very lucky they could cut it away without treatment, it has made my copd worse regarding breathing, and now we have to cope with this cornavirus! It's made my anxiety 100 times worse, but we will get through this so stay safe everyone.

Hello everyone,
Patients with chronic respiratory diseases such as COPD are part of the population at risk of complications from Coronavirus infection. It's really important to follow recommendations and guidelines published by the government and the NHS in order to best protect ourselfs from infection.
Feel free to consult our two recent articles on the coronavirus and chronic illness for more information:
Coronavirus: What do you need to know?
Coronavirus and chronic illness
I've created this discussion so we can pose any questions or concerns about the current pandemic or just generally share our feelings about what is going on.
Have you consulted the recommendations? Who informed you first: you doctor, your pharmacist, a relative? Have you been taking any particular precautions? Have you been self-isolating? Do you have any advice for others?
Take care,
Courtney
