Medication indications

TRULICITY 1.5mg & 0.75mg Solution for injection

Trulicity is indicated in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycaemic control as:

Monotherapy

When diet and exercise alone do not provide adequate glycaemic control in patients for whom the use of metformin is considered inappropriate due to intolerance or contraindications.

Add-on therapy

In combination with other glucose-lowering medicinal products including insulin, when these, together with diet and exercise, do not provide adequate glycaemic control (see section 5.1 for data with respect to different combinations).

I have worked my way up from the starting dose, of 0.5mg, to 1.5mg and now I am on 3mg and things are going well. I have not changed the Reptaclipide and have done away with the Victoza daily jabs, which is very good for my legs. I started using my stomach for the victoza, and my bilirubin went up very high, even the doctor was very worried, she called at my house to make sure I was ok. Once a week jab is so much better, I am happy with the progress of my treatment.

Was on Byetta - 2 injections a day with Trulicity down to one injection per week - very easy no separate needles each injection comes complete - inject then dispose of.

Too early to tell how effective it is but the research says more effective than byetta.
