I have two cats one female and one male. The email is an absolute tart theirs nothing more than she likes is a good fuss. She loves to have her tummy stroked, her tickled and her nose rubbed. I also have a tortoise. Now spend a lot of time on my own when the family is at work and I have nothing on. So I talk to cat and the tortoise. When cats had enough she either walks of or goes to sleep and tortoise just looks at me. But the point is that I have some company which people who don’t have pets can understand also that they are part of the family.

@Martyn1 Hello Martyn1, thank you for sharing with us. Cats do make such lovely companions. They can have such great personalities! Yes, I agree t that some people just don't understand how important a role pet play in the family.
Does anyone else have a furry companion?

Depends on the breed i wouldn't dress my huskamute up as he has plenty of fur to keep him warm. Although if you have chihuahuas etc they have hardly any fur so i would put a waterproof fur lined coat on them. My guide dog puppy labrador when he was younger (3 months old) liked wearing his christmas jumper in house to keep him warm and he fell asleep all cosy wearing it.

My Jack Russell will always be loved but I won't dress him up.
He is part of our family and is spoilt rotten... Great company and understands me at all times, even when I've had a seizure!
He's now 12 and I often think of what I'd do if something drastic should happen to him!

I grew up with cats and dogs, but my family now has a rabbit. I never would have seen myself as a rabbit owner, but she is just so calm and soft and really enjoys just sitting on my lap for pats. It does me so much good too.

I have a dog who is good company, except when in the middle of the night his affectionate feelings make him want to lie across my face.

I have a much loved daft 11, year old Jack Russell called Herbie who I couldn't be without. He is my reason to get up in the morning and my companion especially in these uncertain times. Unfortunately he is poorly at the moment with prostrate problems possibly cancer. I am very worried to put it mildly
