My little dog Toby (Yorkshire Terrier crossed with a Jack Russel Terrier) is a real 'tonic' he is so full of life and follows me everywhere, I mean everywhere?? He is such an affectionate little 'man', he certainly cares for me. When I have a fall, he has a certain sort of bark, I suppose you could call it, that tells my wife that I am on the floor again. Toby sits by me 'whimpering' until Wendy arrives to sort me out, and and only moves when he see's me starting to get up. If I knock my leg, I have very thin skin and splits very easily, he lick's the wound until it has stopped bleeding, then it's 'dry' and heals very quickly, something in the saliva, a healing property.
Yes my Toby is my everything?? Everybody loves him??

Yes. I have a Most Wonderfull Springer/Collie Cross and he is such a Very, Very Good Boy. I was on holiday with my husband and 6-year-old granddaughter and told my husband that ''I ain't going home without a Puppy'' I had been unceremoniously kicked out of my job, that I had for 9 years, so was at home and had the time to train my puppy to not chew the telephone wire or shoes or raid the bin or piddle and poo indoors, all the things that a puppy will do. Also, my granddaughter was now 6 and could also be taught how to behave around dogs, I had my first dog aged 5 many moons ago. He rides with me on my mobility scooter across junctions, I live in London and the traffic is terrible. If I am in pain, he knows and comes up on my bed to give kisses and cuddles, he knows he cannot be near my legs or lay on them. He is just a perfect gentle boy. He only barks when he needs a poo-poo, well, its more of a Ooof. He has had a most positive effect on my mental health, my husband noticed how happy I was a few weeks after we got him. I absolutely love dogs and Donkeys, unfortunately, my flat isn't big enough for a Donkey too!!!, I always have loved dogs and donkeys, he is my Boy and Here is where he's staying. I love that dog.

We have a menagerie. My dog is with me all the time as I work from home. He always knows when I am having a bad day. I rehome rabbits that people give up on. 6 hens and a cockerel free range in the garden all day and then last but no means least my horse. Best therapy for me is spending time with her. Peace and quiet and undivided attention 💗

I have two rescue dogs - 11 year old Sexy Rexy (called that because he loves ladies of any species) and 10 year old Gypsy. They are both Australian Koolies (a working breed), highly intelligent and lots of fun. They have free run of my house and garden. A neighbouring child walks them for me in exchange for help with his homework and the use of things I no longer need. I am 72 and since I hit 60 I have only taken older dogs who are much less likely to be rescued and are quieter and just want to sit around and have a warm bed and regular meals. When I die the rescue will take them back.

@Pleasance I also have pets, a cat and a dog. In the past I had a dog that knew when I was in pain etc however this present one doesn’t realise, however she s still such a help as stroking these two help relax me and therefore takes some of the pain away, makes me forget a little, when you have something or someone else to focus on u don’t think of your pain as much even though feeding them and cleaning out litter trays very painful. Love to all 💖💖

Yes i board and train guide dog puppies and once their boosters are all up to date i bring them so far it has been black labradors along with my own dog a huskamute. (Siberian Husky x Alaskan Malamute) to a local old folks home. The dogs love the attention and just the smiles on the clients faces as so rewarding. My huskamute and my dogs i've had in past have also prewarned me to hypos (type 1 diabetic) by waking me up from a sleep if my bloods have dropped, or keep pawing at me if i'm awake or my j.r.t who used her own body weight to push me so i could grab bannister as i was struggling to get down the stairs to get glucose. None of my dogs were trained to do this but dogs always know when something aint right trained or untrained.

Anyone else dressing their furry friends up for the cold? Is it cute or just animal torture?
